Moj has been developed by ShareChat, which is an Indian social media platform developed by Mohalla Tech Private Limited in 2015. Moj allows users to upload 15-second clips and beautify them with filters and emotes. There is also lip-syncing functionality in the app. The interface is quite simple and user friendly. This is an an Indian app, which is supported by 15 other languages, including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada,Malayalam, and others. However, it doesn’t support the English language.MOJ is absolutely safe to use. Due to security measures, MOJ doesn’t allow users to take screenshots.It also auto-pulled the one-time-password (OTP) without getting clearance from the user for access. Using the phone number is the only way to sign up. However, we can use the app to view content without logging in at all.MOJ has received mostly positive ratings resulting in 4.2 ratings on Play Store after over eight thousand reviews.
The Moj app is available only on Google Play and might take a while to hit the Apple Store. The app is a size of 24MB and is rated 12 years+ users can simply download the Moj app on their smartphone and install it.
To scale up Moj and strengthening its grip on vernacular social networking segment, ShareChat recently raised $35-40 million in a financing round from existing investors. ShareChat has also assigned Morgan Stanley as its banker as it looks to raise a larger amount of money from new investors. Sequoia and Microsoft are also in preliminary conversations to invest in the Bengaluru-based company.
The focus of this app is on building and expanding the creator ecosystem on the platform, powered by technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
