Instagram is testing three new designs to accommodate tabs for Reels and shopping. One for its newly launched TikTok clone, Reels, and one for shopping. Three new designs are in works to accommodate the new tabs, said Instagram chief Adam Mosseri. According to Mosseri, Instagram’s goal with the addition of two new tabs is to help individual creators earn their livelihoods on the app. They can do so by becoming video stars or e-commerce. But to avoid making the app feel packed , adding two new tabs will require Instagram to move at least one existing tab. This could prove tricky and fruitless as many have already criticized the app for feeling crowded.
Instagram Reels will allow the users to create short, fifteen-second long videos set to background music. This is the replacement for TikTok for the security issues. With this ,Instagram Reel could be a great way to pull more users. Instagram Reels is for people, creators, and businesses to create short, entertaining videos on Instagram. The user can record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. Reels will allow people to express themselves and entertain with a new dance or spreading good messages. Reels can be shared in Feed and from public accounts. This way content will be visible to a larger audience. If the account is private, only the followers will be able to view the reels. The music can be searched from the Instagram music library for the Reel.
With the help of AR, we can select one of the many effects created by Instagram and creators from all over the world. The new Instagram design will also have other features like Line up objects from the previous clip before recording the next, which helps create transitions for moments like outfit changes or background changes. Speed can be changed according to the user’s convenience. Thus these Instagram design updates represent how people are using the app and giving extra love to creators, videos, and shopping.
